Origins of MDMA

MDMA, also known as “ecstasy”,  is a synthetic drug that has gained popularity as a party drug and also for its purported therapeutic effects. The origins of MDMA can be traced back to Germany in 1912, where the pharmaceutical company Merck first synthesized the compound. But, it was not until the 1970s that MDMA gained attention as a potential therapeutic drug. • Teeth grinding and jaw clenching, which can cause dental problems and jaw pain.
• Insomnia and sleep disturbances.
• Anxiety, panic attacks, and paranoia.
• Depression and memory impairment with prolonged use.
• In rare cases, seizures, coma, and death.

Addiction

Although MDMA powder doesn’t carry the same physically addictive properties of some drugs, it can still lead to psychological dependence. Individuals who use MDMA regularly may begin to experience cravings for the drug and may feel unable to function normally without it. They may also experience withdrawal symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, and insomnia, when they stop using the drug.

Routes of Administration

Different ROA’s include:

Oral ingestion

This is the most common route of administration for MDMA in pill form. Pills, tablet, or capsule, and swallowing, is the consumption method of  MDMA .

Intranasal administration
